Jonathan Togo Arrested For Domestic Violence

One might say that CSI: Miami star Jonathan Togo is pulling a Chris Brown. Like Brown, Togo will be facing a heap of legal trouble and will need to call a Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer to his rescue.

Togo, 32, was arrested in his Los Angeles home earlier this month after police received a 911 phone call that that he was acting violent toward his girlfriend. When police arrived at Togo's house, they looked into the incident and noted that Togo and his girlfriend got into a physical fight after an altercation.

The Los Angeles police then arrested Togo on felony domestic violence charges. He was booked and then released from jail on $50,000 bail. His girlfriend had minor injuries that did not require immediate medical attention.

Domestic violence offenders can be charged with either a felony or a misdemeanor, depending on the severity of the situation. A felony conviction can be punishable with at least one year in prison, where a misdemeanor charge will result in probation, fines, counseling, or a short period of jail time. A skilled Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer should be able to negotiate Togo's charge down from a felony to a misdemeanor, assuming the CSI actor has no prior history of domestic violence.
