American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is doing everything he can to make sure his alleged stalker is no longer a threat to him.
Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr., 25, was arrested last October at the E! building in the 5700 block of Wilshire Boulevard, where Seacrest tapes a daily TV show. But before his arrest, the man had already pleaded guilty in September to attacking the Hollywood star's security guard at an Orange County hospital, where the court established a temporary protective order for Uzomah not to go within 500 yards of Seacrest. Now, Uzomah is being charged with felony stalking and two misdemeanor counts of disobeying court orders. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to four years in state prison.
Since Uzomah's October arrest, Seacrest's Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer, Blair Berk, has fought for a permanent restraining order. In November, a judge granted the permanent restraining order, ordering Uzomah to stay 100 yards away from Seacrest for three years.
Yesterday, Uzomah was ordered to stand trial in the preliminary hearing. He is due back in court  on Feb. 2.
